In 2020, amidst one of the most challenging periods of my life, I completed this album—a true labor of love.

It all began in 2019, while I was still recovering from a deadly parasite that left me bedridden for 18 months and battling health issues for nearly four years. When I caught pneumonia that year, it set back everything. After recovering, hay fever affected my voice, and I had to re-record every vocal track in 2020—inside a walk-through closet at my mother’s house.

The setup was far from glamorous. The closet wasn’t soundproof, so everyone in the house had to stay silent while I recorded. Even the sound of water pipes could interrupt a take. Despite all this, I poured my heart and soul into this album.

Berit, Vol. 2 is an intimate acoustic collection of original songs, written, engineered, and co-produced by me and Elisabeth Hilltout, The Bel Canto Coach.
